| Omnicom Cares |
One example of Omnicom’s support for good causes through a combination of financial contributions and volunteerism is Omnicom's effort to help rebuild the Gulf Coast region following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Omnicom was one of the first companies to support the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund. The company's initial contribution was matched by Omnicom employees from across the globe.
Recently, as part of its 2007 North American Financial Leadership Conference, Omnicom worked with Kaboom! to build a badly needed playground for children attending the New Orleans public school, Laurel Elementary. Laurel Elementary currently serves more than 600 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. As a result of the effects of Hurricane Katrina, more than 60% of Laurel’s students have lost their homes and are still living in temporary housing. In addition to the building of the playground, Omnicom donated funds to the school for the purchase of lockers, uniforms and to support student jobs programs.
