NEW YORK, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Robert Riesenberg has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of a new entertainment-based business unit within Omnicom Group (NYSE: OMC), effective February 1. The announcement was made by Daryl Simm, CEO of Omnicom Media Group, the media services division of Omnicom that includes global media networks OMD and PHD, among other media related businesses. In his new role, Mr. Riesenberg will report to Mr. Simm.
Mr. Riesenberg, formerly Executive Vice President of Interpublic's Magna Global Entertainment, will head a new business unit that will produce and co-develop programming with talent, leading producers, clients and distribution networks.
At Magna Global, Mr. Riesenberg produced over 50 hours of prime-time television programming including such current successes as NBC's "The Restaurant," TBS' "House Rules" and the Emmy Award-winning Johnson & Johnson "Spotlight Presentation" on TNT. He has been responsible either as producer or executive for the production of numerous television movies and prime-time specials. Mr. Riesenberg sits on the boards of NATPE and Young Audiences.
