TBWA\Chiat\Day New York Hires Lawson Waring as Global Brand Leader; Alberto Botero as Head of Data

Agency also announces Shannon Murphy as Associate Creative Director and elevates Tara Hagan to Director of Digital Strategy and Content Planning

NEW YORK, March 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- TBWA\Chiat\Day New York today announced several senior agency hires and promotions across four key departments: account services, data, content and creative. The appointments come as the agency continues to expand to support growth across its existing clients and several new businesses, including Hilton and Belvedere Vodka.

Lawson Waring joins TBWA\Chiat\Day New York as Global Brand Leader on its Accenture account. In this role he will provide leadership, vision and world-class management of operations and output across all key markets. He will also be a major driver of new technology products and digital efforts across the agency.  Waring joins TBWA from Huge in Brooklyn, where he was Group Vice President and VP, Client Services.

Alberto Botero has joined the TBWA\Chiat\Day New York as Head of Data, acting as the data steward in the New York office, helping to lead, build and push the practice across brands. Tara Hagan, who came to TBWA in 2015 as a Content Director, has been elevated to Director of Digital Strategy and Content Planning. On the creative side, Shannon Murphy has joined the agency as Associate Creative Director.

At Huge, Lawson Waring previously served as the most senior account lead and chief liaison for several top agency clients, including Comcast, EA, ExxonMobil, Pizza Hut, and QVC. Prior to Huge, he also had stints at Tribal DDB, where he led ExxonMobil and (RED) as Group Account Director, and R\GA, where he honed his digital chops overseeing all digital marketing efforts for the SC Johnson family of brands, including Scrubbing Bubbles, Glade, Windex, OFF, Drano, Pledge, and Ziploc. Waring spent the bulk of his early career with The Martin Agency, where he gained valuable experience working across an array of accounts over a 10-year period, such as Walmart, Hanes, Olympus, and Castrol.

Alberto Botero comes to TBWA from FCB Global, where he was Vice President of Analytics. A former developer and engineer by trade, Botero brings with him more than 15 years of experience in data analytics and technology. Prior to FCB, he served as Director of Analytics at Geometry Global and as Associate Director of Analytics and Accountability at R/GA, working primarily with Nike Digital Sport. He also spent time at Digitas as Associate Director, developing and implementing new tracking and reporting methods for client American Express.

Tara Hagan started her career as a CPA at Deloitte. After completing her MBA at Harvard Business School, she transitioned into advertising, becoming an MBA fellow at Omnicom in 2014. She came to TBWA in 2015 as Director of Business Analytics before shifting into a Content director role. Her keen understanding of B2B and business strategy has been recognized across the TBWA global network, and has been instrumental working on several pieces of business, including Intel, African telecom brand MTN, Intuit Quickbooks, and TD Bank.

Shannon Murphy joins the agency as Associate Creative Director/Copywriter, working primarily on Accenture. Before TBWA, Murphy was an Associate Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather New York, writing for IBM, Nationwide, Coca-Cola and Southwest Airlines. She has also held copywriter positions at Strawberry Frog, Y&R Chicago and BBH India, and attended Miami Ad SchoolSan Francisco.
