NEW YORK, April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Omnicom Group Inc. has acquired Aaron Walton Entertainment (AWE), a Los Angeles-based entertainment marketing agency.
Founded in 1988, AWE has established a leadership position in its field. Over the last decade, it has created strategic alliances between the corporate world and the entertainment industry for many of the larger consumer marketing initiatives in this area.
Aaron Walton, who will continue as the company's President, will oversee an expansion of AWE that will include the development of strategic corporate alliances for brand promotions. The company, which maintains offices in Los Angeles and New York, also will establish a Chicago office later this year.
Under its new ownership, AWE will become a unit of Omnicom's Diversified Agency Services group.
"AWE has shown a unique ability to understand the strategic goals of corporate clients and to develop entertainment marketing initiatives that create exposure and increase brand sales volume," said Tom Harrison, President of Omnicom's Diversified Agency Services (DAS).
Working with virtually every major advertising agency, AWE has successfully completed projects for companies including Pepsi, General Motors, Frito-Lay, Pizza Hut, AT&T, Banana Republic, KFC, Taco Bell, Polaroid and Levi Strauss.
AWE's initiatives range from strategically allying Pepsi and Time Warner's Music Division to support "Choose Your Music," Pepsi's key summer music initiative, to bringing AT&T and Whitney Houston together for the famed "True Voice" national television campaign.
Entertainment industry superstars featured in AWE campaigns include Bruce Willis, Led Zeppelin, Britney Spears, Faith Hill, Ricky Martin, Janet Jackson, Sean "P.
