NEW YORK and SINGAPORE, Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnicom Group (NYSE: OMC) agencies continued their winning streak at the Spikes Asia Festival, co-organized by the Lions Festivals, sponsors of Cannes Lions. BBDO received the night's top honor, winning Network of the Year, with DDB placing second. This marked the second time in three years that BBDO was named Network of the Year at Spikes, and Omnicom networks have now finished in the top three networks for six consecutive years. PHD won Media Network of the Year, with OMD placing second. DDB Group New Zealand was the runner-up as Agency of the Year.
Over 40 agencies in 12 countries contributed to Omnicom's record performance at this year's Spikes, the Cannes of Asia Pacific. Omnicom Group agencies captured three Grand Prix awards, three Creative Effectiveness awards, and more than 150 creative honors across multiple categories.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne's "Melbourne Remote Control Tourist" campaign for Tourism Victoria was a multiple award-winner, taking the top prize in the Branded Content & Entertainment and Direct categories. Colenso BBDO won a Grand Prix and Gold in Radio for their "K9FM" campaign for Mars Pedigree and took home three Creative Effectiveness awards. PHD India replicated their mobile innovation success from Cannes Lions by winning multiple awards for the popular campaign from Hindustan Unilever, as well as PHD New Zealand won gold for the campaign Tui Cricket for Heineken. Whybin\TBWA took home 12 awards, including a gold for PR, for their innovative GAYTM's campaign for ANZ Bank.
